Statement on the passing of IFP ward Councillor Qedi Dlamini in Nongoma

The Nongoma Local Municipality joins the family, friends and the broader community of Ward 3 in mourning the passing away of IFP Ward 3 Councillor, Qedi Maxwell Dlamini.

Councillor Dlamini passed away in hospital after suffering a short illness. During a visit to the bereaved Dlamini family on the 21st November 2018 (Wednesday) which was led by His Worship, the Mayor MA Mncwango, Deputy Mayor AN Xulu, Speaker BW Zulu and Nongoma Council, were able to express their condolences to the family. “We are saddened by the loss of Cllr Dlamini who has played a leading role in providing quality service delivery to the people of Ward 3 in particular and Nongoma community in general” said Hon. Mayor MA Mncwango.

He joined Nongoma Municipality for the very first time as a councillor after the 2011 Local Government elections. Since then he served in different portfolio committees within the municipality. He was also a prominent principal in Nongoma at Mbuzi Primary School who was an educator at heart and believed in empowering young people.
